| | Have you ever noticed that animal people are some of the nicest, friendliest, outgoing folks you could ever meet? And as fellow animal lovers, have you noticed that you tend to find new animal loving friends at some of the most unusual places?
For example, back several months ago, I took my husband's MOKAI engine to a place called Jim's Small Engine Repair. Making small talk, I discovered that the daughter of the owners was the carekeeper at The Sancutary for Unwanted Animals in Brookshire, TX. I had never heard of that place so when I got home, I checked them out at: www.sanctuaryforunwantedanimals.com
When I went back to Jim's a couple of weeks later to pick up the engine, I learned that the daughter and her husband had moved and that the mother has stepped in to replace her. I knew right then that when I made another donation, it would go to this group!
So, on December 17th, a PayPal contribution was made to the Sanctuary for Unwanted Animals!
On the same day, I received great news from a foster who had rescued a Boxer Momma dog and two of her pups! Sounds like the two pups have hit the lottery, finding wonderful, loving homes. One HuDad was seen carrying his dog in PetsMart because he "he did not want her walking on the floor at Petsmart, because he did not know if someone had brought a sick dog in there. He did not want her exposed to anything. "
The Momma Boxer experienced some complications during heartworm treatment but recently resumed a slower treatment and hopefully will be available for adoption the first of 2008! For all that his Foster has done to help these rescued dogs, Merlin Magic sent her a check to help her keep up the great work! |

I had the pleasure of being invited by the Houston Area Doberman Rescue (HADR) to sell my books at the Pet Rescue Rally held on November 3 at the Gingerman Pub in Houston, TX. Thanks to sales from that event and the books bought by city hall employees for the City of Meadows Place, a donation was made to HADR on November 20th. Hopefully, this donation will help make the Dobies at HADR have an even better Howliday Season! As always, thanks to all who bought the books!
